Micah's Meijer Garden Field Trip

Today was Micah's turn to go see the butterflies! He had a great time learning all about them and searching for the ones in his little booklet. He also had a great time with three of his pre-school buddies. They couldn't leave each others sides for more than a few minutes at a time. It totally cracked me up. However, they did actually enjoy seeing the butterflies and learning about them. From the way the morning started off (four crazy, 5 year old boys, obnoxiously running through the Gardens), I wasn't sure seeing the butterfly exhibit was going to be such a great idea (for them or for the precious, tiny insects). But they did GREAT. They would just sit and watch them for minutes at a time. We lasted inside the exhibit far longer than I ever thought we would. Micah did especially well. He was in awe of the number of butterflies and would just stand and stare. So fun! We also went outside to play in the children's gardens. It was freezing so we didn't stay out there long. We look forward to going back this summer when being outside is actually fun (if only warm weather would come to Michigan!!). Micah did say his favorite thing about our trip today was being out in the tree house. Crazy kid! :)

The four amigos.... "Together!"
(They actually stand in a circle and all put their hands in and shout this as they raise their hands high. They came up with it on their own and its very cute to watch.)

Two of MANY butterflies

We are currently struggling with where to send Micah to school next year. We really can't afford Northpointe (although after today that kinda makes me sad because I see the good friends he has made there) so we are praying for God to point us in the right direction. Hopefully we'll be able to figure it all out soon! We know God has a plan and trust him to show us what it is. We'll keep you all posted!
Until next time, keep warm!
