Disney Magic: Day 7: "Down Day"

Our final day of everything 'Disney' began with our final character meal at Chef Mickey's, located in the Contemporary! (The unique hotel that acts as a tunnel for the Monorail - which the kids thought was amazing!) What better way to end our trip than to be surrounded by THE Mouse himself, and a few of his friends... Minnie, Goofy,  Pluto and Donald.  The breakfast buffet this Saturday morning was amazingly extensive, and there certainly was no shortage of food!  This was THE best breakfast of the entire trip! So great!  Bob also celebrated his birthday on Saturday, which included a special visit from Donald Duck during breakfast. Fun! What a great start to a beautiful day.

Another highlight of the day for the kiddos (and the rest of us) was hanging out by the 'Hippy Dippy Pool' for the afternoon! We swam, played games by the pool, and the kids even found themselves dancin' along to the music. Addison, Carli and Ella were TOTALLY into this!! Just when you think you're having fun, put on Y-M-C-A, and the WHOLE crowd joins in... so much fun!

Following our pool-party at the Hippy Dippy, we changed, and then took a lazy stroll into Radiator Springs, where we met all of our  Cars' friends... including Sarge, Sally, Lightning, Doc, Mater, Filmore, Sheriff, and a few others.  It was fun to walk through the Cozy Cone motel, the Wheel Well Inn, and even Tow Mater's place. I'm just a big kid, but it was a highlight of the day visiting the Art of Animation Resort, and their perfect 'Cars' set.  (Note we also passed our friends Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head on the path to Radiator Springs!)

We also returned to Downtown Disney on Saturday evening to have dinner and visit the Lego Store once again (Micah's joy!).  We also made our final souvenir purchases at the Disney store, and then headed back to our hotel.

This final, 'down' day at Disney World was absolutely a blast for all of us.  We had seen the parks, ridden the rides, hugged the characters, and enjoyed Main Street several times.  I would recommend to anyone going to the Happiest Place on Earth to 'book-end' their trip with down days!  It's a fantastic way to ease into and out of your trip to Disney.  :)

I have to admit, this was one of the very best vacations I've ever taken!  The smiles, laughter, and squeals of my kids throughout our time here made it ALL worth it! Also, I have to give all the credit to my beautiful wife, Brandi!  You poured yourself into this trip, for the joy of our kids!  You are absolutely the best! :)
