We LOVE to get visits from out of town family! For those of you who don't know, the bulk of Jason and my extended family members all live in Ohio. Its a rare and special treat when anyone from "down south" pops up for a visit. We love it! On this particular weekend, my Aunt Patty, her son Travis and his family (Shelli & Joel) all came to spend a long weekend here in Michigan. While they were here they wanted to do three things for sure: eat pizza at Old Chicago, go to the beach and visit Binder Park Zoo (they went to John Ball last time and wanted to do something different on this visit). As soon as they got into town late Thursday evening we hit up Old Chicago and the rest of the weekend kind of just blurred by... Here are pictures from the beach and the zoo. We had a terrific (and very hot!) time. :)
The Beach ~
Micah and Addison bravely got into the frigid waters of Lake Michigan. For some reason the water temp was REALLY cold this day. I think it was in the high 60s. SO cold! I didn't get in past my ankles but these brave kiddos even dared to go UNDER! Crazy!

Bathing Beauty

All four kids worked together to try and dig a big hole. They were too close to the water to have much success. :) We had a real life lesson in building our "house upon the sand".

So sweet!

Travis, Joel, and Shelli

Isn't he just too cute?!

A picture where Carli is actually smiling for the camera! Its amazing!
The Zoo ~
Cool dudes!

Grandma Patty and sweet Joel

My four wonderful blessings!
We missed having Jason with us during this visit but he was back in GR studying away. He is so dedicated! :)

The next generation of Printz family

Riding the tram to Africa

Feeding the giraffes - the highlight of everyone's day (and the only real reason to go to Binder Park over John Ball. We love John Ball Zoo so much more!)

The littles didn't know what to think. They would scream and let go of the lettuce every single time the giraffe stuck his tongue out to grab it from them. Then he would have to search with his tongue along the net until he found the missing piece. So funny to watch.
We had a blast entertaining our precious family and look forward to doing it again soon!
