Family Camp

This year our family decided to try Family Camp up at Camp Calvary (our church's camp) for our annual family vacation. It was quite the busy week. Jason spent many hours studying and I spent many hours chasing our kids all over camp. :) They LOVED it! Because many of the activities and such were geared towards Addi's age and older, it might be a couple of years before we try it again but our family really enjoyed the week away from everything. No cell phones, no email, no connection to the world outside of camp! It was such a great reprieve! And did I mention that the kids LOVED it?! I do believe it will be the highlight of their summer. Below are pictures from our week away. I'm going to warn you, there are MANY pictures in this post... :)

Beach Time!
The kids loved being at the beach more than anything all week. This is what you might find them doing...

Digging, building, laying (yes laying...YUCK) and rolling around in the sand,

Swimming (you couldn't keep this kid out of the water),

Mornings were hard as my kids wake up with the sun. As a result, and in order to keep them from disturbing the peace, we would let them watch part of a DVD until breakfast.

Don't be fooled though... This would only last for a few minutes before they were off and running! :)

SMORES!
Jason did get to join us for one smores night... :) SO yummy!

SKIING!

Micah attempted to learn to ski while at camp. After a rough start, he got a hand from sweet Jenny O.

He's smiling but the boom is hiding it. He was pretty nervous but not too bad... After one time around the lake, Jenny let go. We didn't know what to expect but our boy surprised us....

And stayed up on his skis! He got tired about 3/4 of the way around the lake and finally let go but I was so proud of him for trying so hard and doing so well!

CRAFTS!

Addison LOVED canoeing. She would have done it every single day if we had let her.

This was Micah's preferred manner of being on the lake. :)

Jason and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary while we were at camp on 7/7. Fortunately, that night was the adult only, beach front, fancy dinner. A perfect way to spend the evening.



Matt and Jenn helped us celebrate. :)


Other Activities...
Micah tried archery. He enjoyed it very much. Doesn't he look great here?

We hung out and played many games in the "mult".


And enjoyed the final camp fire on Friday night.

Such a great week! Such a blessing to our family! We look forward to our time at Camp again over Labor Day!
